"All Rise" is a short political-drama that I directed and wrote, recently won awards for Best Screenwriting and Best Sound Design at the BFI Award Showcase hosted by my university.

The story, inspired by true events and set in Athens, Greece, revolves around Petros, an 18-year-old who is killed by the police while returning home after a night out. After eight months, Petros's parents, Eleni and Konstantinos, despite their doubts, find themselves seated in the courtroom, anxiously awaiting the judge's verdict.

As a filmmaker, I have always been passionate about using my art to address social issues. "All Rise" is a powerful story that draws inspiration from the heart-wrenching tales of victims of police brutality in Greece. This project is incredibly important to me because it sheds light on the countless injustices that have been and continue to be committed without any real resolution.Through this film, I aim to bring attention to the voices that have been silenced and to spark a conversation about how we can create a more equitable society for all.

The experience of filming in Athens proved to be truly remarkable for the entire team. Having translated it from Greek to English, the film is now ready for its festival run around Europe.
